Over a year ago I mentioned my interest in post-secondary teaching to Dr. Iain Duguid, who is my pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church and an OT professor at Westminster Theological Seminary. In a long conversation, he pointed me toward the possibility of teaching overseas and mentioned the Mobile Theological Training Team (MT3), a ministry of World Witness. A few steps later, I was in touch with Dr. David Galletta, an ordained minister in my denomination who travels around the world as an MT3 missionary to teach seminary-level courses in places where that kind of training is generally inaccessible (see The Need on the “Mission to Nairobi (August 2019)” page).

David had a trip planned in late August of 2019 to go to the Common Ground Theological Institute (CTI) in Nairobi, Kenya. A week later I learned that I would have no foreseeable obligations for my work or studies during that time. After I prayed about the mission for several weeks with my wife Rebekah, CTI asked me to teach a modular course on OT interpretation. A week later I had formally accepted, chosen to teach on Ezekiel(!), and started making this website and blog to keep you abreast of the details.

My aim is to honor Christ and bless his Church. So pray for me, I beg.
