I have not been able to write as often as I planned. June and July have been poured mostly into directing the five-week BOOST Camp at New Life, the church where I serve during the academic year in an after-school mission. I’ll confess: I’m exhausted and having a tough time preparing for the mission to Nairobi, which is only a few weeks away! But things are moving forward, and here are the big updates:

Update 1: Rebekah Is Coming!

Rebekah and I visited some dear friends in Annapolis during our anniversary weekend at the beginning of July. Through God’s providence, these friends very generously pledged to fund Rebekah’s entire trip if she would be allowed to come with me. So she is coming! Her plane tickets are purchased, her passport is ready, her immunizations are currently making her feel sick (but what’s important is that she has them), and I am thrilled to have her with me.

Please pray for her as she discerns how she can serve our brothers and sisters in Kenya.

Update 2: Fundraising

I have updated the fundraising reporting to reflect several generous donations, including a substantial gift from my local congregation, Christ Presbyterian Church, and the gift for Rebekah’s portion from our friends in Annapolis. Here is the most up-to-date display of the fundraising so far:

In the next two weeks, I will try to give an update on the syllabus and course guides for the course on Ezekiel.
