I presented twice at the Society of Biblical Literature this year in San Diego.
These two projects were both drawn from my dissertation. (In fact, I proposed them in order to give myself incentive to write and edit these portions of the dissertation!)
First was a presentation on Tertullian’s reference to the “chair of Moses” saying (Matt 23:2–3) in On Monogamy 8.7. The original proposal for this one is in an earlier post and the handout can be found at these two sites:
Second was a presentation on Thomas Hobbes’s references to the same saying in Leviathan. The original proposal for this one is also in an earlier post and the handout can be found at these two sites:
Overall, it was a good experience, but I miss my family so much. Now to spend some time with them for Thanksgiving.
And then, may God give me grace to finish this dissertation!
